JALALABAD (Pajhwok): At least 22 Daesh or Islamic State rebels, including some Pakistani fighters, have been killed during operations in Nazyan and Lalpura districts of eastern Nangarhar province, an official said on Saturday.

Attaullah Khogyani, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News that seven Pakistani militants were killed during Afghan Special Forces operation in Bela area of Lalpura district late on Friday night.

Nine Kalashnikovs were also captured by security forces who suffered no casualties during the offensive.

In Nazyan, 15 Daesh militants were killed and their two hideouts destroyed in a US forces drone strike in Speenzai area of the district last night, Khogyani said.
