300 Afghan students to enter Russian universities this year

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Three hundred Afghan students would travel to Russia for higher educationinfo-icon this year against scholarships awarded by the Russian government, the country’s ambassador in Kabul said on Wednesday.

Alexander Mantitski told a ceremony held in honor of the scholarship winning students, that the Afghan students would pursue their higher studies in medical, engineering, economy, law and arts at Russian universities.

Mantitski said 175 Afghan students had already been sent to Russia on scholarships and the process would be accelerated in future.

Hundreds of Afghan students are currently studying in different universities in Russia.

“The Afghan youth are talented and we want to provide them more higher education facilities looking at the needs of Afghanistaninfo-icon,” he added.
