Sep 14, 2017 - 15:47

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): A high-level security huddle, expressing disappointment over the unrest created by some gunmen in Kabul, has ordered an investigation into the case and application of law to all.

President Ashraf Ghani chiared the meeting, which was also attended by Executive Officer Abdullah Abdullah, who hailed security arrangements for the Martyrs Week and said gunfire and harassment of residents was unacceptable.

Earlier, the CEO had said: “Bothering people who share our grief and sorrow is not justifiable.”

Wednesday's meeting also discussed the situation in northern provinces such as Faryab, Jawzjan, Baghlan, Nuristan, Kabul and Uruzgan.

Interior Minister Wais Barmak briefed the meeting on the incident that happened on September 8 and 9. He said some residents of Kabul suffered losses at the hands of illegal gunmen.

At least 13 people were injured in firing on the first day of the Martyrs Week and 12 suspects have been arrested so far.
