6 rebels killed, 12 injured in Kunduz blasts

KUNDUZ CITY (Pajhwok): Six insurgents were killed and a dozen others wounded in two separate explosions caused by their own bombs in northern Knuduz province, an official said Monday.

A reliable source at the provincial National Directorate of Security (NDSinfo-icon) department told Pajhwok Afghan News that five rebels were killed and seven others wounded when a landmine they were emplacing in Yamachi area of Khanabad district went off on Monday morning.

According to him, the dead included a bomb making expert, Usmani, and Talibaninfo-icon designated chief for Khanabad Mohammad Hashim was among the injured.

Meanwhile, one Taliban insurgent was killed and five others wounded when a bomb they were making exploded in Qasab village of Chahardara district.
