MEHTHARLAM (Pajhwok): Dozens of development projects have been launched in eastern Laghman province at a cost of one billion and three hundred million afghanis.

It was told to a meeting about provincial development held under the chairmanship of Governor Abdul Jabar Naeemi on Monday.

Eng. Mohammd Den, head of the economy department, told the meeting that construction work on 42 different schemes was underway and the projects would cost 13,000 million afghanis.

He said two projects worth 172 million afghanis were handed over to the electricity department after completion this month.

The governor said the provincial government was committed to addressing people’s problems in all parts of the province.

Naeemi also claimed saving millions of afghanis in project contracts through transparent bidding.

He warned contractors against any delay in timely completion of the projects.
