Aug 13, 2017 - 13:14

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): The Talibaninfo-icon captured the Ghormach district of northwestern Faryab province on Sunday, an official said.

Governor spokesman Javed Baidar confirmed to Pajhwok Afghan News the fall of Ghormach and said the district was lost as reinforcement and equipments did not reached on time.

Security forces had been under the Taliban siege in Ghormach over the past 22 days. He deplored no assistance had been reached to the security forces despite several request had been made.

However, Nasratullah Jamshidi, spokesman for the 209the Shaheen Military Crops, strongly rejected the fall of Kunduz.

He said fierce clashes between security forces and the Taliban were underway around the district center.

The residents of locality during a telephonic conversation confirmed the fall of Chormach and said the Taliban captured the district early in the morning.
