KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): The chief executive officer (CEO) on Thursday said allegations against former communications and information technology minister had been found baseless by the Attorney General Office (AGO).

Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, during a meeting with the ex-minister, Abdul Razzaq Wahidi, said: “Investigations show you are clean and innocent of the charges brought against you.”

He said that the investigation take a long time, something he added should not happen, and the minister was finally proved innocent by the AGO.

Wahidi said he had been committed to transparency and accountability while serving the government, particularly as minister of communications and information technology.

The CEO appreciated Wahidi for his performance, acknowledging the former minister’s cooperation with relevant organs.

This case would help the government not to treat other officials this way, Abdullah said. Wahidi was suspended in January by Presidential Ashraf Ghani on the charge of manipulating the ministry’s revenue statistics.
