JALALABAD (Pajhwok): With promises of quality services, the foundation stone of a private hospital was laid in eastern Nangarhar province on Monday.

Governor spokesman Attaullah Khogyani told Pajhwok Afghan News an Afghan businessman, Eng. Zarghoon Shah, was investing 50 million afghanis on the hospital project.

He said the hospital in Samarkehl locality of Behsud district would offer many healthinfo-icon facilities to reduce people’s reliance on hospitals in neighboring Pakistaninfo-icon.

He said the hospital would be furnished with all modern equipment and facilities and besides Afghan doctors, foreign doctors would also in the hospital.

He added a special section for heatstroke, kidney patients and facilities for blood related tests would be made available at the private hospital.

Inamullah Miakhel, public health department spokesman, termed the project as beneficial for the people of Nangarhar and said its administration should provide those facilities which others lacked.

He believed if the hospital provided all health facilities, most people would stop going to Pakistan for treatment.
