JALALABAD (Pajhwok): The UN High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) head in Afghanistaninfo-icon has said Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) are caught in multiple problems.

UNHCR's country chief Fatema Abdullah traveled to eastern Nangarhar province and met refugee and IDP families.

The Nangarhar Press Club said the UNHCR head met Governor Gulab Mangal and discussed refugees’ issues.

Mangal urged national and international organisations to provide more assistance to IDPs in the province.

Fatema said she met refugee families and heard their problems. During the meeting, refugees demanded shelter, healthinfo-icon and educationinfo-icon facilities.

Fatema added the issues would be shared with higher authorities to help generate funds for the refugees.

She believed refugees and IDPs were still faced with many issues and there was need for more assistance.
