KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): The Chief Executive Officer’s office on Thursday said no evidence existed to show Russia’s military support to the Talibaninfo-icon, but cautioned such contacts with terrorists were dangerous for peace and stability of the region.

CEO spokesman Mujib Rahman Rahimi told reporters in Kabul about reportedly growing Russia-Taliban ties that the Afghan government was yet to find evidence to prove Moscow was helping the Taliban.

He said the Russian Federation had already spurned reports regarding Moscow military assistance to the Taliban.

Rahimi said any contact with the militant group should be established through the Afghan government otherwise it would endanger regional peace and stability.

A day earlier, Baghalan police chief claimed foreign military experts from Russia, Pakistaninfo-icon and Egypt and other countries had arrived in the province and were aiding the Taliban.

Rahimi said Daesh was a common threat to Afghanistaninfo-icon and the global community and the group was struggling with leadership crisis since its two leaders were killed within one year in Afghanistan.

The CEO spokesman said operations to eliminate Daesh from Afghanistan were underway in different parts of the country.
