2 police, 3 militants killed in Khost clash

May 02, 2017 - 18:41

KHOST CITY (Pajhwok): Two police and three militants were killed in a clash in Bak district of southeastern Khost province on Tuesday, the district administrative head said.

Abdul Hai Zazai told Pajhwok Afghan News that three Talibaninfo-icon gunmen stormed his office, killing two police.

The rebels fled to a nearby village after the attack, but they were chased and eventually killed, Zazai added. He said the gunmen opened fire at the police manning the main gate of the district headquarters.

A local resident named Mohammad Nasir told Pajhwok Afghan News that he heard gunfire and it appeared two policemen had been killed in a militant attack.

“I was at my home and suddenly firing started. When I came out, I saw two policemen were killed, but later the three militants were also killed in retaliatory attack,” Nasir added.

The Taliban have not commented about the incident yet.
