Khan’s performance stuns cricket pundits and fans

NEW DELHI (Pajhwok): Afghan leg-spinner Rashid Khan’s performance in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) has stunned everyone, bringing delight to cricket fans.

Khan, playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), has captured five wickets in the last two matches, taking cricket enthusiasts by surprise. He was named the man of the match in yesterday’s duel.

Against Gujarat Loins, the teenage spin prodigy took three important wickets for his side, restricting the opposition to a small total. Fans hailed Khan’s bowling spell as magical.

Cricket commentator Ravi Shastri said: “in the land of Hyderabad Biryani the chicken of Afghanistaninfo-icon ruling.”

The former Indian captain is also impressed the leg spinner performance paid him rich tributes in his comments during the match.

They urged more opportunities for talented Afghan players in the upcoming IPL editions. One Indian citizen wrote on his social media account: “Like Rashid, I am waiting for Mohammad Nabi. We need more Afghan players in future tournaments.”

The Indian media also favour by covered Khan’s performance, acknowledged the SRH had reaped the advantage from buying Khan. Many Indians say the gifted spinner had won their hearts and minds.

Hamid said: “Nobody thought Afghan players would attract franchise owners or there will be buyers for them. But Khan has done better than our expectations.” He hoped the IPL management might consider bringing in more Afghan cricketers

Anis Halim, a business faculty student at Hydarabad’s Usmania University, said his classmates had congratulated him on Khan’s outstanding bowling figures.  It looked like more Afghan players would appear in future IPL games, he concluded.

Sunrisers Hyderabad Captain David Warner calls him a superstar in the making, Mentor VVS Laxman says he is a champion bowler, while his Afghanistan teammate Mohammad Nabi claims he still can’t pick some of his variations in the nets.
Rashid Khan is the talk of the town. As if his Afghanistan origin and a million-dollar purse at the auctions weren’t enough to create waves, Rashid has been playing all the right notes - courtesy some spellbinding wrist spin. IPL websie said in a report.

"As a franchise the Sunrisers Hyderabad are very pleased to have Rashid in our team. Today he was the man of the moment and it was a fantastic performance against the Gujarat Lions.
