Indonesia grants Afghan students 100 scholarships

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): The Indonesian educationinfo-icon and culture minister on Wednesday announced scholarships for 100 Afghans to study in various universities across the country.

"The Indonesian government would provide scholarship for 100 Afghan students," Muhadjir Effendy was quoted as saying by the news agency ANTARA.

The scholarships are part of a bilateral cooperation agreement signed between Indonesia and Afghanistaninfo-icon, according to the minister. Jakarta has also built the Indonesia Islamic Centre (IIC) in Kabul.

Additionally, construction of Assalam Mosqueinfo-icon in IIC complex, which has the capacity to accommodate 2500 people, has been completed. Healthinfo-icon and education facilities will also be completed soon.
