Aibak residents constructing 4-storey seminary
AIBAK (Pajhwok): Local residents of the capital of northern Samangan province have started construction work on a religious school that they say would cost nearly $700,000.
Religious scholar Maulvi Abdul Jabbar Shahidzada said the wall and green area of the school would cost $680,000 local residents had donated.
He said land for the seminary had been provided by the municipality and its construction would take two years to complete.
Shahidzada said the four-storey structure would have 60 rooms equipped with modern water and electricity systems.
Qazi Hamidullah, senior manager of religious subjects at the Ministry of Hajj and Religious Affairs, said there were 142 religious schools in Aibak and six other districts with more than 10,000 students studying in.
He said all the seminaries were registered with the Ministry of Hajj and Religious Affairs.
