KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): The number of fans on Pajhwok Afghan News’s Facebook account has reached one million and its Twitter page is followed by 200,000 people.

Pajhwok Afghan News is Afghanistaninfo-icon’s largest independent news agency headquartered in Kabul with eight regional bureaus and a nationwide network of reporters and correspondents.

Pajhwok delivers an average daily output of three dozen stories in Pashtoinfo-icon, Dari and English.  Pajhwok also provides photographs, video footage and audio clips to international wire agencies, television and radio stations.

By hitting the one million mark, Pajhwok scaled a milestone among a fewer news agencies in Afghanistan.

On behalf of his staff members, Danish Karokhel, Pajhwok director, thanked all the followers and fans for their trust in the news agency.

“We once again renew our promise show the real image of incidents and situation and share the voice of our people suffering different problems with the Afghan government and the worldinfo-icon,” he said.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dr. Abdullah Abdullah called the news agency a leading media source

He said the news outlet had won national and international reliability by giving accurate information regarding developments taking place in the country. “Attracting a million fans shows the news agency has won the trust of people,” he said.

Seddiq Seddiqi, chief of the Government’s Media and Information Center (GMIC) said Pajhwok was one of the best news agencies in the country.

Wide coverage of political, social, economic, cultural, security and sportinfo-icon developments were the outlet’s specifications, he added.

Shah Hussain Murtazavi, acting spokesman to the president, congratulated Pajhwok on successfully in spreading information and said: “I wish success to all the staff members of Pajhwok. Attracting more followers proves the news agency’s accuracy, impartiality and balance.”

Lotfullah Najafizada, director of Tolo News television channel, also said increasing fans meant people trusted the organization.

“Pajhwok has been active from the past several years and covers reports from different corners of the country,” he said.
