3 closed Kapisa girls schools reopened

MAHMOOD RAQI (Pajhwok): Three closed girls’ schools in the Alasae district of central Kapisa province has been reopened, officials said on Sunday.

Ghulam Nqshband, the town’s administrative chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News the school remained shut due to the Talibaninfo-icon threats in the past.

As a result of the local elders efforts the schools had been reopened in the new academic year, he added.

The district chief lamented no high school for girls were available in the district there were only three intermediate level schools.

Malik Jan, the resident of the locality, said the schools reopened without proper infrastructure. He claimed the residents of locality built some part of the schools on their own expenses last year.

Jan urged government construct school buildings in addition to improve security situations in the area.

Provincial Educationinfo-icon Director, Mohammad Naseem safi, confirmed the reopening of the schools by the indefatigable efforts of local elders.
